Product Description

 United States Armory and Arsenal at Harpers Ferry produced this rifleman’s pouch from 1803 to 1841 and was standard issue.  This pouch  possibly was used in the Corps Of Discovery with Lewis and Clark. The pouch is made of black leather which is 7” wide at the bottom, 6.6” at the top, 5.5” deep. The inside has a partition  made from  white leather and makes 2 separate compartments.  The flap is 2.7” deep with a strap and leather button on the front.  2 loops on the back has hand forged square iron rings that the white shoulder strap is attached to.  The shoulder strap is white leather that is 1.5” wide that 2 straps are cut at the end that are 13.5” long  One .6” wide and one .9” wide to which the pouch and horn or a flask are attached by with hand forged iron hooks.  Cut to U.S. Rifleman Pouch pattern specs.  Made in the USA by October Country, a manufacturer of muzzleloading supplies.

    Nicely done, a prideful piece of history with my centuries old powder horn attached. An impressive companion to my 1803 musket. I do have a question.
    The pouch flap could be a bit longer, even an inch. Was pouch flap length cut to original Harpers Ferry specs? No gripe, just curious.
