The rifle was named after the legendary mountain man Liver Eating Johnston Crow Killer Robert Redford portrayed Liver Eating Johnston in the movie Jeremiah Johnson. Liver Eating Johnston was a mountain man of the American West 1824-1900. His native American wife is said to have been killed by members of the Crow tribe, and Johnston set out for revenge across 20 years. The legend says that he would cut out and eat the liver of each man killed. Eating the liver of a victim is a symbolic way of completing a revenge slaying.
The rifle has standard curly maple stock, 1 inch straight octagon 32 inches Green Mountain match grade barrel, 1/70 twist, L&R locks, Hawkens style sight, barrel and lock are antique brown, trigger guard and butt plate and front blade sight are German silver.
