A pan cover is designed to cover the entire lock and protect it from the elements. It is also commonly known as a cow's knee. Our version is made from lightweight brown leather. Available in right and left-handed styles. Made in the USA by October Country, a manufacturer of muzzleloading supplies.

A different design from what I'm used to. Would have liked more pics showing how they used it. Well made and it works.

As a hunter I have always used inline black powder guns but after I got my first flintlock from October country I had to get this cover due to wind and rain. It works very well and is made to hold up to back woods hunting. As for the color my color was as it is in the pic above, one of the other reviews said he got a white skin and if you are worried about the color there is a comment box at the bottom of the order slip that you can use to request a color or anything else.

Beautifully made. Works really well. Poured water on it while on flintlock, repelled water nicely. Shipped/received fast.

I am super pleased with October country period! Every product I have purchased has been advertised and of great quality. Only reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 is the tieing leather was a little too thinly cut and snapped twice when I was trying to tie it. I used some thicker leather now and works without a flaw.
