Musket nipples are made from 416 alloy (12% Chromium), the first free machining stainless alloy with Martensitic qualities (hardenable, tempers normally, and is magnetic unlike most stainless alloys). Stronger, tougher, more resistant to battering, 416 alloy is longer lasting than the famous old Ampco bronze nipples, now obsolete.

8/4/15: Finally got out to shoot today. I used only the Musket nipples. I was very satisfied. No misfires and no hangfires. All shots were consistent though off center because my new rifle had not been properly sighted.
Now it is sighted and I am impressed with the consistency of my loads and that the Musket caps were a big part of that.
I recommend them if you want a hotter spark and fewer misfires. FYI I use RWS Musket caps and Schuetzen 3f Powder. I think I will stick with this combination.
