I have used blue thunder since it was called Ole thunder I use it for cleaning my muzzleloaders. I use it for patch lube. I am gunsmith and I recently used it on 2-50 caliber hawken rifle barrels that had been sitting for years and were not ever cleaned. I soaked them for three days and it cleaned very well. These guns are now usable again and they were not before.

I just ordered a new batch of this great cleaner and patch lube. I have used it for patch lube and cleaning for probably 15 years now. I have not doubt it is a good preservative as well but I always follow cleaning rutine with gun oil out of habit.
